Hi, my name is Joern Bargmann. I'm from Germany where I live part of the year whereas the other part I live in Como, Italy with my wife and two children. I'm a Web Designer for 8 years now specialising in front end design using modern html, css and JavaScript. A very important part of my work is optimising websites for mobile devices.
I use content management systems (cms) ranging from Wordpress over Drupal and ModX to a simple cms like Perch. I do some back end development in php and began learning Ruby on Rails and server administration.
I'm proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks, know Adobe Illustrator and InDesign quite well and use the usual text based development tools like TextMate and Coda to code up my designs. I use Git quite extensively.
Being a trained photographer gives me the necessary eye for details and the big picture in design and, having experience in print design as well, I look at design questions from different points of view.
Learning something new every day is very important for me.
I like riding my road bike in my free time and I love typography and architecture.
